Peggy, is founder of Kitchen & Bath Concepts, which has specialized in consultation and design of new and remodeled kitchens and baths since 1986.
Peggy is a Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer, and holds a retired Professional membership in ASID. She is a Past National President of the NKBA, and a Past President of the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of ASID. She is also a long-time member of the Houston Culinary Guild.

Peggy has been featured in local and national publications such as Houston House & Home, Texas Culinary Thymes, Interior Design, House Beautiful, Better Homes & Gardens, Women’s Day Kitchens & Baths, Kitchen & Bath Business, Kitchen & Bath Design News, Who’s Who in Kitchens & Baths and a special feature project for Country Living Magazine for WoodMode Cabinetry.

She is a frequent speaker at local and national home shows and trade conferences, and has judged Design Competitions for the NKBA, NARI, SubZero and others. She has appeared on HGTV several times and is an award-winning designer herself. Over her years in the industry, she has served on advisory councils for manufacturers such as Dacor, KitchenAid, SubZero, WoodMode and others. She often presents seminars and industry forecasting programs for professional and consumer groups.

Peggy is married to Maurice McGowen, retired, and they enjoy spare time at home on Galveston Bay, or in Los Angeles, near grandchildren. Daughter Micqui is also a CMKBD, and partner in KBC. Daughter Marci Daly and her family live in Los Angeles – there are lots of direct flights between Houston and L.A.

Micqui has been in the Kitchen and Bath Industry for over 25 years. She is a graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in Interior Design, is a registered Interior Designer in the State of Texas and a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer (CMKBD).

Ms. McGowen has been published in Houston House and Home Magazine and was featured in Kitchen & Bath Business magazine in their article “Cool 5 Under 35 – Five Industry Pros 35 or Under.” A Kitchen designed by Micqui was also published in “Woman’s Day Kitchens and Baths.” Micqui received two honorable Mentions in the 2002 NKBA Kitchen Design Competition. She has served on a Sub-Zero advisory committee for new product design and development and is frequently quoted in national publications.

Residential kitchen and bath design is Micqui’s main focus, however, other projects include cabinetry design for corporate office kitchens, a dental clinic, design of national exhibits for a widely distributed Texas cabinet manufacturer and design work for several appliance and cabinet showrooms.

Micqui has served locally on the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) Texas Gulf Coast Chapter Board of Directors and was elected to the National Board of Directors of NKBA in 2003. Micqui has also served on the National Test Board Committee for NKBA and the ad-hoc committee to rewrite the NKBA Guidelines for safe design in the Kitchen and Bath.

Melissa SharpMELISSA SHARP, Designer
Melissa received her Associates of Applied Sciences in Interior Design from Houston Community College, an NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association) supported school. She is an Allied Member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers). Melissa has served in different positions on the board for the NKBA Texas Gulf Coast Chapter and currently serves as the V.P. of Communications. Melissa has a background in Residential Design, working under licensed designers for several years before coming to KBC. She has also specialized in designer case goods and custom home furnishings, decorating anything from client’s city homes and offices, to ranches, lake and mountain homes. Melissa loves finding unexpected and unique finishes for her projects. Her passions are design, art, architecture, music, dance and theater.

Melissa has been married to husband Kevin for 15 years. They enjoy traveling to the beach, hill country and mountains, when they can get away. Kevin shares Melissa’s passion for art and design and they often go to art festivals, museum and gallery exhibitions anytime they can. Melissa shares Kevin’s passion for University of Houston and Texan’s football. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, often welcoming them into their home.

Izabel MendezISABEL MENDEZ, Designer
A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Isabel received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design (with Honors) from The Art Institute of Houston, Texas. Combined with her Associate Degree in the Culinary Arts, she not only designs beautiful kitchen interiors, she crafts them into bespoke spaces for memorable family gatherings and entertaining.

An avid traveler, together with her husband and two children, her work is infused with an international sensibility and flair.

Fluent in Spanish, she brings her family-lifestyle experience to her work, and assists all our clients in realizing their dream kitchen.

Bryan-College Station, Texas

dorris2DORIS GUENTNER, Designer
Doris represents KBC in the Bryan-College Station area. She can be reached at 832.858.9870
Doris has been in kitchen and interior design since 1984. She began her career in Munich, Germany where she worked for over 20 years for several design studios including some in Frankfurt. She was manager for several firms which included SieMatic and Poggenpol kitchen studios and founded a subsidiary in Frankfurt for one of the Munich studios with which she associated. Doris has also given several industry seminars including speaking at the IMM/Colone presentation of the first computer screen used in the kitchen to be mounted under the upper cabinet.

Doris has spent time in Dubai where she designed over 1,000 kitchens for residential and commercial properties. She was instrumental in the opening of the first SieMatic showroom in Dubai and trained local staff to understand the SieMatic concept. Her portfolio includes many villas on the famous Palm Islands. She has also freelanced for design firms in San Fransisco, Los Angeles and Seattle and now shares her expertise with clients in the Bryan-College Station area.

Originally from Venezuela where she graduated in Architecture, has worked in the kitchen and bath industry for more than 20 years. She is a member of NKBA, and holds certifications for CKD and CBD. Her broad experience includes new construction and remodeling projects in traditional and contemporary styles. What she loves most is working with clients to achieve their kitchen and bath design dreams. Every project poses challenges and finding the best solution for the client is her mission.

Ines now lives in the Austin area where she represents KBC.
